Solid Birch Three Legged Mortised & Tenon Stool for Hale of VermontA three legged stool of solid Adirondack birch by the Hale Company of East Arlington, Vermont. Influenced by Mid Nineteenth Century Shaker furniture and stools by the dean of American woodworkers, Wharton Esherick (Pennsylvania), of the 1930s 1950s. The club shaped legs are mortised and tenoned and splined to the stretchers as well as to the inch and one half thick, organically shaped, top.
